Team Jamaica, is again looking ahead to the big dance on September 4th Labor Day Sunday, just before the big celebrations on Eastern Parkway. The manager Norbert Radjpaul, is busy putting the final touches to his roster. He alluded to the fact that his present system is unfailable and will not make any new changes in preparation for this year’s tournament.
Team Jamaica, will be at full strength after the CONCACAF Gold Cup. “There are quite a few core players that will join us and the extra week will give the overseas players time to register” said the manager.
Manager/Head Coach: Ron Gordon
Coaching Staff: Wayne Warren, Rowan Laviscount, Gene Jules and Derrick Edwards.
Team Antigua & Barbuda has made the playoff and has been improving for the last three years. This year we experience a small setback, when Antigua placed their first professional team in the USL, The Antigua Barracuda. Several of our players were drafted and finally contracted. This coupled with the early start of the Caribbean Cup soccer has gave us limited time to adequately replace these outstanding players with the same caliber players.Antiguais committed to do what ever possible within its power to continue its march to a championship.
Antigua have added to its coaching staff, one of the world most prolific scorer in world cup history, former CCI player and former national coach of Antigua & Barbuda, Mr. Derrick Edwards. Derrick held the scoring per capita world cup record for quite some time. I am not sure if his record was ever broken. Strategically based in Antigua, he voluntarily scout and select players for us. He will join the team in July to emphasize our commitment to our goal.
