Team Guyana USA Soccer Inc was established in 1992.
For the umpteenth time in 2015 Team Guyana reached the New York Caribbean Cup Soccer playoffs but were unsuccessful in advancing pass the quarter final. Be that as it may, however, Team Guyana continues to be one of the more exciting teams in the tournament.
Alittle about our Country:
Guyana is the only non-island that helps form the once all conquering West Indies cricket team. It is actually part of South America expanding over 83,000 square miles and is bordered by Suriname to the east, Brazil to the South, Venezuela to the West and the Atlantic Ocean to the North. It is the only country in South America in which English is the official language.
Guyana was originally colonized by The Netherlands before becoming a British colony. In fact they were British Guiana before becoming Guyana with independence in 1966.
There are nine Native American tribes residing in Guyana: the Wai Wai, Machushi, Patamona, Arawak, Carib, Wapishana, Arecuna, Akawaio and Warrau.
In recent years they have been quite competitive in Caribbean Football Union competitions getting as far as the final round of CFU World Cup qualifiers, but cricket has been their staple sport. Guyana gave the world one of the best cricket captains ever, in Clive Lloyd, and Rohan Kanhi, arguably one of the great West Indies batsmen, while Colin Croft did his part to give West Indies one of the most feared fast bowling quartets in cricket history.

Season’s Expectation: Our present goal is to be 2012’s champions, unlike last year’s competition that ended unfavorably. Last year (2011) was our first year to win our division and no goals scored against us. We hope that we are given a fair and equal chance this year. (2012)
