Week 3 - New York Caribbean Cup Battles the heavy winds...

Despite the heavy afternoon winds that blew all afternoon all the New York Caribbean Cup Soccer games were played to completion.

The opening game between former Caribbean Cup champions Team Trinidad & Tobago and Team Grenada, saw Team Grenada battle the winds and less than stellar Team TNT defense to come away with a 2-0 win. Denron Frederick and Brian Andrews scored for the Spice Boyz.

Team St Vincent & The Grenadines (1) vs (1) Team St Kitts & Nevis

St Vincent & The Grenadines on the attack

There was a lot of drama in game two between many times champions Team St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Team St. Kitts and Nevis. The Sugar Boyz can count themselves unlucky for with seconds to go in the game an own goal denied them maximum points. Goals by Donroy Liburd and Roy Charles gave the Sugar Boyz a 2-0 lead before Mike Collis pulled one back, then the heart breaker.

Team Jamaica (2) vs (0) Team Antigua & Barbuda

Captains at the coin toss - Jamaica vs Antigua & Barbuda

Team Jamaica looked anything but like defending champions in the nightcap against Team Antigua & Barbuda. The Benna Boys seemed to handle the gale force winds a lot better and came away 2-0 winners on a brace by Peter Byers.
